Why the contest is only opened to people in the States?

Hi, it could be interesting to know the reason for building walled gardens in application development. Who wins with that?

  Thanks for writing. We wish that all competitions could be open to all countries, but unfortunately we have to take into account legal requirements, which tend to be different from country to country, and the conditions specified by the sponsoring organization. By no means is this a statement as to whether international developers are valued or not—they certainly are—rather it's just a logistical matter.
